Pool Side Summer
Creating a space that can get wet but also serve as a retreat from the sun is complex, but the results here were amazing.
My client started with a cement hole in the ground (see video below) and a rough pool shed that we transformed into a family fun oasis. The pool was completely transformed with new copings and surround. New landscaping and furniture set the tone for the Slim Arron inspired vibe that my client was after. The pool shed turned pool house was the most fun. We peaked the ceiling, added a fan and recessed lighting, new outdoor lighting, created a service bar, added open shelving, new flooring and french doors. The last step was lacquering the walls and ceiling the most perfect color pink. The pool house furniture needed to be comfortable but compact and storage needed to be maximized. We landed on Turkish cotton towels so that they would dry easily and not take up a tremendous amount of space. Finally, creating a large dining area right off the pool house allowed for ample entertainment and poolside fun. Juliska graced the table with their melamine collection and blush pink ombre linens. Never underestimate what can be done to a space, regardless of its size or condition. This little shed was the pool shed that could and it became a very sophisticated petite pool house.
